The "Fortified Churches Road" tells a vivid story of the ever present threat of Turkish invasion in the Middle Ages. Churches were turned into fortifications serving as refuge for the vulnerable villagers and farmers.

How about a visit to the celtic village in Schwarzenbach? Every year a big festival is held re-enacting the life in Celtic times.
