The district town of the Bucklige Welt lies embedded in the valley of the river Zöbern. The town is overlooked by its beautifully restored castle ruin. The gothic church and its rosegarden are a welcome quiet retreat from bustling life in the market square.
The castle ruin is freely accessible and venue for a wide range of events. The Christmas Market is held there for 3 days every December, as well as concerts, weddings, theatre plays,.. throughout the year.
Around Kirchschlag you will find an extensive network of cycling and hiking routes, offering the right challenge to everybody - from gentle strolls to day long excursions. Afterwards, the newly renovated outdoor pool with beach-volleyball and tennis court offers a welcome occasion to cool down and relax.
The open air Ice skating rink in the center of town is a popular meeting place in the winter.
